More Winter Weather Next Week

The dreadfulness of this winter's cold has finally broken my silence. With temperatures consistently remaining below normal and plenty of storm systems to track, this winter may go down in history as one of the coldest and snowiest on record.

December 2010 has already inked its place in history as one of the top 5 coldest. And January looks to be on track to match that mark across the deep South. And for those who think you've had enough.....

Next week, weather models are again showing a winter event across the south on Tuesday. With this event only 84 hours out, confidence is increasing that the deep South will again experience some type of winter storm.

Here is the NAM model output for 6pm Tuesday evening. As you can see the model shows a deepening surface low in south AL ushering in cold air. Sometimes the recipe for significant snows in Alabama.

We will wait and see. Until then, I can at least long for the warmer days of spring....
