...Winter Storm Watch in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning... The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Winter Storm Watch...which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through noon Monday. Accumulating snow is possible across all of central Alabama starting around noon Sunday and continue through Monday morning. Accumulations will range between 2 inches or less across the south to 4 to 7 inches along the north..with higher amounts across higher terrain. In addition...snow will transition into freezing rain across the southern half portions of central Alabama. Ice accumulation could be as high as one quarter of an inch. A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow...sleet...or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts. |
